Sézanne, city of character

Sézanne is truly a small town of character in the Champagne region.

Its history begins in the stone age and then in the Gallo-Roman period.

His rise, following the diversion of the Grand Morin river by the monks of Saint-Julien, comes the construction of the castle by Count Thibaud I.

Until the 17th century, Sézanne was a major city in the Champagne region.

The medieval city of Provins

Located a 30min drive from our Lodging, be sure to visit the medieval city of Provins.

Its history begins in the Roman period, after Clovis seized the Roman castrum of Provins. In the Middle Ages, Provins was an important town in the Champagne region.

Today listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, go and discover its remplarts, the Caesar tower, the priory of Saint Ayoul, the tithe barn.

Provins also has a Museum installed in the Romanesque House, one of the oldest buildings in Provins housing a fine collection of items from the Neolithic to the Renaissance and up to the 19th century.
