What is a gîte rural booking?

Rural gites are holiday homes offered for rent for a short period of time. The whole accommodation will be at your disposal for the duration of your stay, as if you had a second home.

Unlike hotels and B&Bs, you will be self-sufficient and will be expected to do your own shopping, cleaning and will not have access to hotel services.

But each house is different and you won't feel like you're in a chain hotel, but in a new home and with private communal areas.

What should I bring for my week in a gite?

The gite is a furnished rental. Bring everything that is useful to live there: your personal belongings. The kitchen linen and hand towels, your cleaning products (at least the essentials) are provided

The sheets are provided by the owner.

We always provide a set of towels for each person.

We always provide basic cooking supplies such as oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. The rest is to be taken with you or bought on the spot.

The gite is equipped with a kitchen and a bathroom.

The gite is equipped, you will find tools for cleaning, cooking, washing, etc...

Are there any charges to pay?

Our rental price includes water, heating. A contribution to the electricity costs is requested on the basis of a meter. (8 KW/h is counted per night) meter reading on arrival and departure

We also provide a free Wi-Fi internet connection.

What is the departure and arrival procedure ?

We will welcome you on site, show you around the accommodation, give you the explanations you need and give you the keys to the accommodation.

We will carry out an inventory of fixtures before your installation with the necessary explanations on the terms of the cottage (end of stay cleaning package, internal regulations,....)

For the departure, we will also be present to collect the keys and take stock of the exit.

Arrivals generally take place from 5 p.m. and departure before 10 a.m. If you need specific times, contact us to arrange arrival and departure arrangements.

You will be welcomed on site by the owner(s) and will establish with them the inventory of fixtures and the various formalities necessary for the smooth running of your stay.

In case of absence of these we will inform you and indicate the name of the person commissioned for this. She will show you around the accommodation, establish with you the inventory of fixtures, give you the explanations you need and give you the keys to the accommodation.

For the departure, the owner(s) or this same person will be present to make the exit inventory with you, collect the keys.

Can I get a rental contract?

Once you have booked, we will send you an email confirmation with:

  • a rental agreement
  • our rental conditions
  • the description of the accommodation
  • the instructions for the payment of the deposit and the validation of the contract.

In this confirmation email, you will have a personal link that will allow you to find all the information about your reservation. We use the services of "Gîte et Bien" for our reservations and these tools allow us to offer you a reservation follow-up as if you had reserved on major platforms such as AirBnb, Booking or Gîtes de France.

An option is put on the gîte until you validate the contract and send your payment of the deposit according to the aforementioned methods. The deadline is specified. Beyond that, the gîte is put back on sale for the period requested.

Once the deposit has been paid and the contract has been validated, you will have to pay the balance 30 days before your arrival.

If the reservation of the beginning of the stay is planned less than 30 days before your arrival, the full payment of the stay is requested.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes, we require a deposit of 30% of the amount of the reservation to confirm it.

What are the cancellation conditions?

Once your reservation has been confirmed with the payment of the deposit, the cancellation conditions depend on the proximity of the stay. The earlier you are in the stay, the higher the reimbursement, since we will have time to offer the accommodation again to other customers. If you cancel shortly before the stay, then we keep part of the amount of the reservation.

Each reservation is different and has its own cancellation conditions. We invite you to consult our general conditions of sale from the bottom of this page or connect to your reservation area where the cancellation conditions specific to your stay are indicated.

Can I take out cancellation insurance?

We do not offer cancellation insurance ourselves, but there are many insurance companies on the internet that offer this service. Go to Google and type "Cancellation insurance", you will find many.

The best known is that of Europ Assistance, but there are many others. Be careful to compare well, it is not the most expensive that are the best.
